  1. My first interview is going to be this weekend on 02/07/10. So since I haven't done any person to person interviews, I did a lot researches about Haiti instead. The information about Haiti includes: History, Geography, The recent earthquake, health conditions, some statistics, and lastly, its international relationships. Jean Cadet himself is a student in Emory who helps in Haiti. I can't find any other information about him so I think the interviews is going to play an important role of getting acquainted with him. Up to this point I have done one phone contact and email exchanges with him.

  2. Sounds like you have a good start on things. It was also really timely that you picked someone from Haiti. If I were you I would focus mostly on the recent events there since thats what people are really interested in right now.

  3. I just had a fantastic interview with Jean (we both sacrifice the oppotunity to watch superbowl haha). During this hour interview, I not only learn his occupation, but also his own experience, observation and suggestions in rural Haiti the area he's working on. He is a born Hatian and moved to the U.S. 10 years ago with his wife. The only thing........the only thing.....THE ONY THING GRRRRRRR!!!! was my computer crashed during the interview...all my precious recording was gone :(...... so here's the advice... "Make sure your computer or any other electronic devices work or charged befroe the interview"...

  4. Had my second interview today yay!! This time I got a lot more details about his family, his life, his perspectives of Haiti. And how, why he moved to the US. Also I asked him about the political chaos during his life time in Haiti (Just to make a connection with world themes). It seems like he has a pretty stable life compared to the majority of Haitians (The overthrown of Baby Doc, the intervention of U.S doesn't affect his life much). This interview is really helpful for understand who Mr. Cadet is.
